Eric Carle

Eric Carle (1929–2021) is one of the world’s most beloved picture-book artists. Among his over 70 books, he is best known for The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which has sold over 50 million copies and has been translated into more than 65 languages. He was also a prolific fine artist whose exuberant embrace of color found expression in a variety of media including collage, printmaking, sculpture and costume design.
